A Scottish Garden Handfasting Wedding

Catriona, founder, and designer married Tom, who works best for Swire, in an intimate, garden ceremony at her mum's home, around the Black Isle within the Scottish Highlands on 23 June 2018. They made a day of homespun celebrations where they might spend time with friends and family, eating wonderful drinks and food, which was inspired by the beautiful Scottish landscape.

"I desired to wear an outfit that was me and embroider elements which were important to Tom, me, our life together, and our big event – stuff that symbolized our plans and dreams for future years and also represents us now."

"I didn't wish to wear white so I wore a bright yellow slip underneath the embroidered tulle gown for that daytime ceremony and turned into a blue slip underneath for that evening. I loved feeling completely comfortable and incredibly myself."

For jewelry, the bride-to-be chose to wear her usual everyday jewelry watching, in addition to her wedding dresses band. In her hair were fresh flowers, that the bridesmaids also wore.

They all look so vibrant and joyful within their mismatched floral dresses, tunics, and jumpsuits; this type of wonderful undertake bridesmaid style.

The talented was asked through the couple to capture your day, and her timeless, classic style has led to these wonderful, utterly beautiful images. I love the muted landscape hues which will make the vibrant colors in Catriona's gown and flowers pop even more.

"We met at Cambridge after which Tom discontinued to work all over the world. We re-met at a party in London in May 2016 and chose to move to Asia together shortly after and obtain married. We were engaged for seven months before our Singaporean ceremony and nine months before our Scottish one with family and friends."

Meanwhile, Tom was dressed inside a bespoke linen suit tailored in Hoi An, Vietnam, plus a vibrant silk pocket square, cut and sewn from a classic kimono.

Before their garden ceremony, the pair spent time together in Newhall Main's stunning gardens to capture these portrait shots that I'm sure they'll treasure together.

The weather held to allow them to marry beneath a tree within the garden, Catriona wrapped up warm inside a dusty pink kimono. The couple was piped in with a Scottish piper before their traditional ceremony.

"Highlights included the piped walk towards the tree and our ceremony and singing underneath the eaves of their branches. We spoke the standard Celtic vows and did the hand-fasting."

"About inspiration, we just desired to eat and drink making merry wonderful our family and friends, however, the landscape and surroundings set the scene and everyone joined together to make it personal. My dad grew all of the wine, for instance!"

The dinner was held within the long gallery and hung out on long tables adorned with candles in bottles of wine, unusual wedding favors, and fresh, wild flowers styled by Adelaide Knott.

Words of Wedded Wisdom

"My advice to anyone thinking about getting married would be to think about why you are married and what concerning the marriage itself is meaningful to you and also to prioritize this. Everything else could be a party."
