A Natural + Elegant Autumn Wedding
Meet Georgie and Omar, who have been married on the 21 October 2017 inside a ceremony at Netherbury then a reception at an attractive, private rural retreat.
"I'd say getting a photographer was maybe our toughest search. We desired to find somebody that understood what we should be after. Our brief was someone we felt confident with, somebody that put us comfortable, somebody that blended into the background, and somebody that captured fantastic shots. Robin exceeded our expectations."
Georgie decided on a gorgeous bias-cut silk gown with a guipure lace bodice and located the bespoke process exciting and enjoyable.
"I initially had no idea what style of dress I tried on a variety of dresses! As the search continued, I had a clearer idea but felt there is always something that wasn't 100%. I found dressmaker Elaine Closs on the internet and my perfect dress was made!"
"With Elaine's help and expertise, I was in a position to design the gown exactly the way I wanted, experiment with features, and judge my lace. The whole knowledge about Elaine was refreshing, relaxing, and exciting and I came away having a unique dress that I loved and felt so comfortable in."
The bridesmaid dresses looked lovely within the 'Regent' dress from inside a light shade of dove grey, and within their hair, delicate sprigs of waxflower, in addition to glitter heels from Kurt Geiger, chosen to enhance Georgie's.
"I bought girls a rose gold rose quartz bracelet, that they all wore around the day."
Omar wore a remarkably smart charcoal grey three-piece suit, using the groomsmen wearing two-piece versions from the same suit along with pale blue ties, gifted for them by Omar.
"We met within our first year of university-aged 18. Omar proposed 20 years later, during an autumnal walk in my village near my loved ones' home in October 2016. We started planning immediately and also got married annually later."
"In the church florist, Clair lined the aisle with small arrangements around the pew ends. We had arrangements on wooden crates at the front from the church and plenty of candles and foliage around the window sills."
Matt Hampton captured your day on film, too – a last-minute and far treasured gift from Georgie's parents.
"He fitted alongside our photographer brilliantly and captured the marriage perfectly. I can't stop watching the videos and reliving your day! It was really special for all of us both to be in a position to share your day with our elderly grandparents who have been unable to attend by watching it together."
After the ceremony, it had been over to lovely Axnoller for any feast cooked by Gordie Sutherland and also the team there. The space was decorated beautifully, making atmospheric utilization of candles around the tables and hanging from delicate glass baubles.
"We found this guitar rock band. They played a few live sets then DJ. We wanted everyone around the dance floor! The band was great and certainly got everyone around the dance floor and instigated an excellent dance-off!"
Words of Wedded Wisdom
"Take regular steps back and don't forget why you're married. Planning could be all-encompassing, with differing 'ideas' and 'suggestions'. It's the people who surround you that will make your entire day –if you're happy using the invite list and also the person you're marrying it will be a fantastic day whatever!"
