A Sri Lanka Inspired Wedding

This would be a day full of color and laughter, inspired by the groom's Sri Lankan heritage, and including one seriously cool bride within an exquisite, caped dress. Amy and James are generally classical musicians; Amy is a bassoonist in the English National Opera, and James is a horn player.

This lovely couple was married around 6 October 2019 at, Peckham, then a reception at, Bermondsey.

Amy looked incredible inside a showstopping gown. The cut and fit were superb, and I love the Bardot neckline and form-fitting silhouette, contrasting using the flowing, detachable cape.

"The size they'd in stock fit me just like a glove, so hardly needed any tailoring. I felt just like a modern Disney princess, that is exactly what I'd hoped! It was also so comfortable, and I was heartbroken to consider it off in the end from the night."

Amy's bridesmaid dresses wore an asymmetrical, blush pink dress, and also the couple's flower girl was their sweet daughter, Holly.

The couple's ceremony was conducted by Southwark Council registrar, Ricardo Jackson, whose brilliant feeling of humor had everyone laughing throughout the service.

"James and I met sitting alongside each other in the orchestra (as a lot of musicians do!) in 2012. We were both with others, so were friends for several years before both of us found ourselves single at the same time in 2015."

"As soon as we've got together there is no returning. Everything felt so from day one. We had our beautiful baby Holly in 2018 and also got engaged when she was 30 days old. We got married approximately a year later."

Amy and James designed Amy’s diamond engagement ring together so that as they made their vows, they exchanged simple gold bands, which had been made in Hatton Garden.

"I would not have thought I'd say this, however, the ceremony was my favorite part of the day. I hadn't realized how overwhelming it's to be saying your vows towards the love of your life, encompassed by literally everyone important to you, all looking gorgeous and smiling from ear to ear, wishing you a lot of love and happiness."

James wore an impeccably tailored designed-to-measure suit in burgundy, along with a floral print tie.

"Our first dance was Blackbird by The Beatles. An arrangement from it was around the first album we recorded together, so it had been very close to our hearts. We had to play some of our favorite tunes. They were this type of great party starter, and also the image of my mum throwing some serious shapes to Britney won't ever leave me."

Words of Wedded Wisdom

"The more personal for you, the greater you'll enjoy your day."
