A Rainy Day River Cottage Wedding
On the 28 July, Sustainability Consultant married her love James, a Barrister, inside a wonderfully relaxed, fun day spent at Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's, Devon.
"It was the very first dress I tried on! I love the truth that I felt like 'me' inside it, and achieving looking inside a few bridal magazines within the weeks beforehand, I thought this may happen to be impossible to attain! I did put on others, including inside a couple of different boutiques, but I returned to the very first one, which I still love."
The bridesmaids wore prom dresses inside a vibrant cornflower blue. They looked lovely worn with simple ballet pumps, fresh flowers in their hair, and initial necklaces.
James wore a beautifully tailored blue suit, which they paired having a pale pink tie. His three Best Men wore complementary blue suits, too.
"Neither people are religious, and although I would have married within the local church where I was raised and such as the traditional facet of it, James felt strongly he would not happen to be comfortable getting married inside a church, which I completely respect."
Claire was accompanied on the aisle by her father, to the sounds of Nat King Cole singing Let There Be Love, and also the ceremony was conducted with a registrar in the Devon Registration Service.
"James and I met cycling up mountains within the French Alps, which we currently do each year in aid of cancer of the breast research in the Royal Marsden. Le Cure, a four-day ride covering about 100km, and 2-to 3 Tour de France climb every day, was set up by mutual friends. I was residing in Australia the very first year I came over to perform the ride, and just briefly met James that year."
"By the year after, I was back residing in London, and we spent additional time getting to know one another cycling within the mountains. We continued our first date in regards to a week after you have back in London! Seven months later, we moved in together, and 10 months next, James surprised me by having a weekend away in Florence."
"He proposed at the end of an earlier morning run, within the Boboli Gardens overlooking the astonishing city (as well as produced an attractive ring from the pocket of his running shorts!). That was February 2018, and we got married at the end of July 2018. Who says you'll need a long time to plan a marriage?!"
It was still raining because the ceremony ended, but drinks and canapes were enjoyed nevertheless, and also the sun was soon shining again as Claire and James walked in River Cottage's wonderful gardens, consuming those joyous, just-married feelings.
There to capture your day was Katherine and Steve, who handled the changeable weather and lightweight conditions admirably!
