A Floral Hexagon Ceremony Backdrop

It's a pleasure introducing you, to the next stage teaching assistant Laura, and Lee, a senior business analyst, who married on 7 September 2018 at, Ticknall in South Derbyshire. The faded glamour, feeling of history, and the gorgeous grounds lent themselves perfectly to Laura's vision of the 'The Secret Garden' and enchanted woodland-inspired day, coming up with a modern, boho twist and subtle color pattern of grey, green and white.

The couple met in May 2009 in Laura’s hometown of Leek in Staffordshire.

"At the time I was being employed as a bridesmaid dresses and Lee's friends will come most weekends towards the bar where I worked, 3 years before our meeting. The night we met, I was both in Leek, and he approached me and my buddies at the bar. He agreed to buy me a drink and our love story began after that."

"Once in Brooklyn, we took a stroll across the promenade to take the stunning views from the Manhattan skyline. We sat on the bench which's when Lee got recorded on one knee and presented me most abundant in perfect Princess-cut ring."

Laura wore an attractive fishtail, fitted gown. My favorite detail may be the lacy, epaulet cap sleeves layered within the delicate tulle bodice.

"I loved the cut and fishtail fit of the dress using its gorgeous, geometric, statement lace design. It was so unique and different and like not one other dress I'd seen. I just knew immediately 'I don't wish to take this dress off ever!'. I felt just like a Queen inside it.”

The bridesmaids look cool and relaxed within their pale silver floor-length gowns – so pretty using their deep V-back and ruffled sleeve line. They wore them using their shoes in metallic tones and their very own jewelry.

"I'd always loved the thought of wearing a birdcage. I loved the vintage, bohemian chicness of these and again it had been something a little different."

In line using the elegant color palette, the bouquets were opulent, hand-gathered affairs of fresh green foliage and a lot of different white flowers.

"Lee and I always said we desired to make our ceremony personal therefore we wrote our very own vows to one another. My starting place was to write a summary of everything I love about him and after that my creative flow began. It was this type of lovely and emotional feeling reading and hearing each other's vows."

Before the marriage breakfast, the pair spent time together using their photographers of these divine newly-wed portrait shots. I love the backdrop of Calke Abbey and the people in the woodland and also the glasshouse is extremely romantic.

"During the first stages of planning our wedding, I had slight wobbles and doubts about planning it – having the ability to pull off this perfect day and become this beautiful bride who'd be comfortable being the center of attention. But, after several chats together and seeing them in the many wedding fayres we attended, I always came away feeling reassured and much more confident during my ability to pull this very day off and also to make it something really special."

The overall vibe and beauty from the day continue to be so wonderfully captured during these timeless images from photographers, whose feeling of fun and eye for detail shines through.

My eye's been caught through the tiered, semi-naked wedding cake decorated with fresh greenery, a creation.

"Our cake would be a three-tier, semi-naked cake. I loved the classic, elegant simplicity of these. We dressed the wedding cake with real flowers given by our florist and topped it using the cutest Stag and Doe set which I sourced from. Our cake flavors were salted caramel, lemon and orange, and Autumnal spices. All three flavors tasted fantastic."

"It sounds so clichĂ© but we loved every minute of our day – as soon as I awoke that morning to determine my beautiful bouquets towards the very last dance ('New York, New York). The whole day was magical and I don't think we’d change anything. It was perfect just as it had been."

Words of Wedded Wisdom

"Enjoy the look process and don't let anxieties and doubts get in the way. I initially did and I felt such as this hindered me from really experiencing the first 6 months of planning. Keep talking and sharing your ideas with your fiancé, friends, family, and suppliers because this solved the problem. Take in all of the compliments and feel just like a queen for that day!"
