SOPHIE & BEN: REAL BRIDE STORY

We had three dates for the wedding dresses because of Covid! Our first date was Sunday 24th May 2020, which became May 2021, and we then chose to move the date to July 2021. We got married at Wentbridge House Hotel, we'd been engaged merely a week before I was looking at venues. Wentbridge was the 4th or 5th we had, and we knew immediately it had been the one. The grounds are simply beautiful, and I have always wanted to get married outside; thankfully the sun's rays shone at the time despite per week of rain before!

We met in January 2016 on a night out in Barnsley and started talking the following day; we've been together since. In October 2018 we visited York for that weekend and Ben was built with a grand intention to propose towards the top of York Minster- but I didn't wish to walk up! He altered his intention to propose over breakfast during sex, but we wound up going out that night and staying up till 3 am so it had been too late to order breakfast… thankfully he wasn't to become swayed, and he bought a McDonald's breakfast and proposed within the room. I did think it had been funny he wouldn't take his coat of all of the previous night- the ring have been in his pocket!

I knew I wanted a princess dress- who doesn't wish to be a princess for that day? The FeelTimes dress was the very first dress I ever saw when I started my search and I loved it. The staff were so helpful. She solved the problem in all my appointments and was always around the end of the phone and truly cared.

I fell in love a lot more than when I'd seen the dress online; the train, the 3D flowers, the embellishments helped me feel like a real-life Disney princess. Twirling within the gown was this kind of amazing feeling.

We were built with a few minor hiccups at the time… our entertainment was brought out at 10 am at the time, and also the cake topper never arrived. But nobody noticed the wedding cake topper, and because of Facebook, we'd new entertainment inside a few hours. The team at Wentbridge was fantastic, nothing ended up being too much trouble.

Getting ready with my two bridesmaids, my Auntie, and my Mum was amazing. But my favorite part was seeing my Dad for that first time and walking on the aisle together to Ben.
